A regional motorcycle racer has been killed and another seriously injured in separate incidents at the Festival of Speed at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
Warren Banfield, 48, of Krugersdorp died after his Kawasaki was involved in a multiple pile-up on the start-line of the Brunch Run race.
Earlier in the day Marco Pugi, 28, of Eden Glen was seriously injured when he crashed at the bottom of the Mineshaft during the Thunderbikes race. He was taken to Sunninghill hospital where he remains in a coma.
