Cape Town - The Cape of Good Hope (CoGH) SPCA has announced the return of its Tats4Tails initiative, with the aim of raising R100 000 for animals awaiting forever homes.

It is their 6th annual tattoo-a-thon, hosted by acclaimed tattoo artist Clinton Naidoo of Primal Culture Tattoo Studio in Diep River.

The fundraising event will take place over seven days from January 27 to February 2.

Over the past five years, Tats4Tails has been supported by several influential local personalities dedicated to driving positive change for animals, including radio presenter Brandon Leigh, musical duo PJ Twins, Idols winner Berry Trytsman and actors Cedwyn Joel and Jill Levenberg.

Inked for the good cause is journalist Venecia Valentine, who said it is her fourth year supporting the project.

“I have a passion for animals and the welfare of animals and therefore I take pride in supporting initiatives that contribute to raising funds to assist animals in need.

“The work that the SPCA and Primal Culture is doing to help sustain the wellbeing of animals is admirable and I want to be part of such a great project.”

CoGH SPCA spokesperson, Belinda Abraham, said: “The Tats4Tails initiative is about more than just getting a tattoo—it’s about giving animals in need a direct lifeline. Every tattoo represents a tangible gift of care for an animal, whether it’s a vaccination, microchip, sterilisation, veterinary care or a forever home. These interventions are critical to animal health and to help prevent disease, neglect and the suffering of unwanted and stray animals.”

To be part of the tattoo-a-thon, supporters get to choose a 7cm x 7cm tattoo of their own or a set design for only R800 each.
