Cape Town - Local online retailer Levantè Urban is bringing yet another creative, fun and immersive sneaker customisation event this weekend.
Sneaker lovers will be able to explore their creativity by customising their own kicks or by purchasing a new pair for customisation.
Levantè Urban will host a “Colour My Kicks” event at Café Euphoria, Woodstock Exchange, on Saturday from 11am to 2pm. The event is the second of its kind for the premium footwear and fashion brand.
For those choosing not to customise sneakers, Pret en Skep will be in attendance, with guests able to paint on a canvas instead.
Upon purchasing a ticket, guests will receive a plain white Converse at the event, or alternatively bring their own. Art tools and supplies will be provided, with an artist on hand for guidance on drawing a design to painting. No experience or special skills are required.
Levantè Urban managing director Mamta Arvind Bain said there will be a massive sale with just R100 for those bringing their own sneakers (R250 at the event) and R950 to purchase sneakers.
“On the day, they come, get a free drink, get a Converse shoe/bring their own shoe and plan their design. Our artist will help them to draw it on their shoe and they start painting. The artist will help guide them through the steps. But besides the painting, we create a space for people to have fun, meet new people and be creative. We will have a DJ there too,” Bain said.
“Our goal is basically to create a great vibe for sneaker lovers to be creative, have a unique sneaker customised by themselves and enjoy with friends.”
Those who do not want to paint can still enjoy a fun afternoon with friends. There will also be merchandise on sale, including Vans, happy socks, Converse and more.
