Cape Town - No matter what the outcome of the ANC leadership battle, and no matter what the outcome of the next election, this country is currently at war.

It is at war against corruption, incompetence, criminality, and poverty on a truly frightening scale, and more of the same will just not do.

Without entering into a litany of already well understood and constantly exposed misfeasance and malfeasance on the part of every department at the national government, provincial and local levels, the failure of the SAPS and defense force, the collapse of the health service, the galactic mismanagement of SOEs, most notably Eskom, etcetera etcetera, it is obvious that the current situation cannot be allowed to continue.

The country is at war and it needs a War Cabinet to solve it on the lines of Winston Churchill’s War Cabinet during World War II.

I suggest that the time has come for a coalition government of the best talent available regardless of colour, creed, and regardless of the outcome of the next general election to tackle the monumental challenges created by 27 years of appalling misgovernment.

There is more than enough talent in this country in all of our communities.

The country has resources that are the envy of the rest of the world.

Use our talent and resources wisely for a change, before the country descends into the anarchy and chaos that charaterises Zimbabwe.

We are surely smarter than that.
