Durban — Two remote jammer suspects were expected in court today (Thursday) after they were arrested in Durban.

Private security company dRK Tactical said that on Tuesday morning at approximately 7.57am, the dRK Tactical control centre was alerted to an attempted remote jamming incident on Lillian Ngoyi Road, within the Morningside area. Multiple squad units and operational teams set out in search of the vehicle.

DRK Tactical said that the vehicle was spotted travelling north on Lilian Ngoyi Road and members continued to monitor the vehicle. The South African Police Services were contacted and informed of the vehicle and its occupants' behaviour.

“Two suspects who were in the vehicle noticed that they were being monitored and in an attempt to flee from dRK Tactical Squad units and operational teams they drove into oncoming traffic.

“Members of the dRK Tactical operations team were in hot pursuit of the vehicle and managed to bring it to a halt on Smiso Nkwanyana Road,” dRK Tactical said.

“The two occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot, but were successfully apprehended by members of dRK Tactical. The South African Police Services arrived on the scene and a search was conducted on the vehicle. Three remote jamming devices were found, as well as three cellphones.”
