South African rapper Kwesta and amapiano star Nkosazana Daughter have teamed up on a new single that will feature on Kwesta's much-anticipated album, "The Big Bro Theory" - his first solo album in three years. 

"Joy" is set to release on Friday, April 11, while the full album will drop on Friday, May 9. 

The surprise collaboration has already generated considerable buzz online. 

"Joy" serves as a testament to Kwesta's continued evolution, showcasing his lyrical prowess. 

Teasing the song on Instagram, Kwesta posted in the caption: "My new single #Joy ft @nkosazana_daughter comes out on Friday 11 April #TBBT Abajabule Abantu!!"

"I already feel this song.❤️," wrote @kayleez_sa. 

@n.engezwa commented: "Kwesta u guys never made a mistake whn it comes kwi spani I respect u njalo n keep wat u doing we keep following n listening to yo greatest music dope track."

The artist, whose career spans over 15 years, has firmly established himself as a “Grootman” in the South African music scene.

His return with "The Big Bro Theory" promises to be a reflective journey through his growth, legacy and the evolution of his artistry.

Excited about this release Kwesta shared through a statement: "'Joy' is a song that is supposed bring exactly that. It’s joyful, playful, hopeful and positive. Nkosazana Daughter is angelic on it. Her voice makes it seem like everything will be fine and that’s why I think it’s perfect on this."

He added: "'The Big Bro Theory' is an album about love. Love for the game, love for my work, love for the people and the art. It’s not some 'tell all'. It’s a service of good ass music."

Kwesta will release his new album on May 9.

In another post shared on Instagram, the rapper said that he couldn't believe it's been three years since he last put out a solo project. 

"There is no real reason behind that, to tell you the truth. It's me wanting to try other things in between. I mean, we've put out a kwaito album and won a Sama for that ... I had to kind of get back into the raps."
