The friendly staff at Netcare's Stork's Nest will also be on hand to assist and answer all your questions - whether you are a prospective or new parent.

"At Netcare Stork's Nest we don't just render healthcare, we also make every effort to educate and inform," says Nellie Koen, national coordinator for Netcare's Stork's Nest.

"With the dedicated, baby-centred service on offer from Netcare's Stork's Nest facilities there is no longer a reason for new parents to feel overwhelmed by the new addition to the family."

Netcare Stork's Nest will have two stands at the expo - the first showcasing their maternity services and the other being the immunisation clinic.

According to Koen, prescribed vaccines as supplied by the Department of Health (DoH) will once again be administered for free to young babies in need of inoculation at the Netcare Stork's Nest stand.

"We will also be able to administer other non-DoH supplied vaccines, but these will have to be purchased and would not be supplied free of charge. Those requiring advice and counselling on the subject of immunisation can at the same time call on expert advice for free."

Nellie would like to remind parents wanting to avail themselves of the Stork's Nest inoculation service to bring their "Road to Health Card" along so that it can be handed in at the immunisation clinic. Unfortunately no immunisations can be done if the clinic card is not presented.

In addition to the immunisations babies will be weighed and measured as well.

Very useful "Tots to Teens" First Aid Kits will also be on sale at the Netcare Stork's Nests stand. These kits are extremely handy and compact enough to be taken wherever you go in order to cope with child-related emergency situations.

- The Baby Expo will be held from May 15 - 18 at the Coca Cola Dome in Randburg.
