Durban - A woman sustained moderate injuries after she fell from a moving truck in an accident on the M4 at Zimbali in Ballito on Thursday.

IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Dylan Meyrick said paramedics responded to the scene.

“On arrival of IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics it was found that an adult female had fallen off the back of a moving truck,” he said.

Meyrick said the patient sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital under the care of IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics.

In another accident on Thursday morning on Ballito Drive in Ballito, IPSS reported that a person had been struck by a vehicle.

“Upon arrival of IPSS Medical Rescue paramedics it was found that a pedestrian had been knocked by a vehicle, sustaining multiple injuries,” he said.

Meyrick said paramedics worked to stabilise the patient who was then transported to a nearby facility for the further care required.

Last month a pedestrian died on the N2 southbound between Shaka’s Rock and Ballito after being struck by a vehicle.
