The liquidation sale will be held on site at 57 Broom Cliff Road in Estcourt.

Evowood, formerly known as Masonite, and one of the biggest hardboard makers in the southern hemispere, has been manufacturing locally since 1942. It was placed in voluntary liquidation. The mill was the town’s biggest employer and its closure resulted in the loss of 460 permanent jobs.

On February 26 at 10am, the lots will include hard- and soft-board manufacturing equipment including stock tanks, dryers, hydra pulpers, dust plants, storage tanks, presses, saws, sanders, kilns, compressors and diverse vehicles.

On February 27 at 10am lots include engineering workshops and equipment such as gearbox and motor repair items, pattern and carpenter workshops.

The biggest auction Estcourt has yet seen will be personally handled by Ian Wyles. The terms and rules of the disposal are on www.ianwyles.co.za. Call 0315794403 or 0826013883 or email [email protected] for details.
