Michael James Organisation will on February 19 at 11am auction the “exquisite” four star Thatchwood Country Lodge in St Francis Bay, about 100km west of Port Elizabeth, and an adjacent three-bedroomed home.

The on-site “urgent disposal” will take place at 63 and 65 Lyme Road, Sea Vista, St Francis Bay.

Rolene Kotze, director of Michael James Organisation in the Eastern Cape, says the guest house, which is fully operational, is an “exceptional investment opportunity”.

“Thatchwood Country Lodge overlooks the sixth fairway of the popular 18-hole St Francis Bay Golf Course and is located at the entrance to the new Jack Nicklaus-designed signature golf course. Most of the seven beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms have private gardens or patios, and the lodge also features a large swimming pool with poolside bar, two lounges, and a restaurant overlooking the golf course and gardens,” Kotze says.

The double-storey home next door has a bedroom downstairs and two on the upper level, which has a balcony overlooking the ocean and golf course. The house has its own swimming pool with boma, an en-suite loft room, and its garage has a separate workshop.

Kotze says St Francis Bay is a beautiful Garden Route village renowned for its distinctive Mediterranean-styled white houses with black roofs, a 10km canal system, and working harbour used as a base for calamari and pleasure boats.

“It’s a popular residential and tourist spot with lots of activities that include hiking, fishing, whale-watching, surfing, swimming and golfing.

“It is only 175km from Addo National Park and has a village centre with all essential amenities,” she says.
