Siphesihle Majala, a passionate model, is on a mission to harness the transformative power of pageantry for social change, championing education and empowerment.

Hailing from the Eastern Cape, Majala's journey into modelling began at a tender age, fuelled by a passion for pageants sparked during her primary school years.

However, the path to achieving this dream was fraught with challenges, primarily the lack of opportunities and financial constraints.

“I loved modelling since I was still in primary when I used to watch pageants on TV and due to lack of opportunities and lack of money I had to start when I was in college,” she reminisces.

It wasn’t until her college years that Majala seized her chance to step into the world of pageantry, encouraged by a close friend to enter the Miss Ngqungqushe competition in 2019.

“A close friend encouraged me to enter Miss Ngqungqushe 2019, I won 1st runner up and I never looked back. At first I thought modelling is about chasing the crown but I learnt that it is a platform that is provided to speak out and make a positive impact which also sparked my interest in perusing further competitions and developing myself through the pageantry world.”

She details that finishing as the first runner-up was a watershed moment that set her on a path of relentless pursuit and growth.

“Initially, I thought modelling was all about chasing the crown,” she admits, “but I quickly realised it’s a platform for making a positive impact.”

Majala’s journey has led her to become a finalist for Miss Grand South Africa 2025, a prestigious platform that she asserts challenges her as an introvert.

“MGSA has broadened my horizons and pushed me out of my comfort zone. It’s not just a stepping stone; it’s a significant opportunity for growth and empowerment,” she reflects.

For Majala, holding the title would enable her to address pressing issues affecting society, particularly those that concern the youth. The opportunity to represent South Africa on a global stage is one she embraces with enthusiasm, armed with valuable connections and experiences that will amplify her voice.

When asked why she believes she is a worthy candidate for the coveted title, Majala confidently articulates her strengths.

“I possess strong communication skills that allow me to effectively advocate for the organisation's vision,” she states. “I can lead, inspire, and motivate others, and I believe this title would push me to achieve even more.”

Majala aims to inspire upcoming titleholders through her dedication and resilience in the face of adversity.

“I value integrity, optimism, compassion, and self-awareness. My passion for my goals drives me, and I believe my character can inspire many,” she says.

As the final day approaches, set in the vibrant surroundings of Emperors Palace on June 28, Majala utilises her pageantry platform to advocate for education and self-empowerment.

She emphasises the urgent need for education in South Africa, particularly in a place where unemployment rates are high, leading to crime and mental health issues.

“I want to encourage the youth to value their education; it can change their circumstances and open many doors,” she urges.

Majala attributes her success to hard work, dedication, and an unwavering support system, including her family, friends, and the Labei Couture clothing brand.

“Every vote counts in my journey. It signifies support and belief in my vision,” she says, urging supporters to vote for her by contributing to the Miss United Continent account.
