DURBAN – That said, let’s get through these tips swiftly - as all the good stuff will be at full throttle from tonight until Monday.
Formula 1 is in Singapore, which generally serves up lekker street-racing on what is normally a hot evening. That adds a bit of spice to the race, in terms of strategy and tyre pressure.. etc..etc.
Lewis Hamilton is priced at 5/10 with the resurgent Sebastian Vettel at 15/10. That is for the overall championship, leaving a lot of track to cover for Vettel.
However, in Singapore, Sebastian sits as the favourite at 13/10 and Lewis at 7/2. Back Vettel to close the gap slightly, but Lewis to be on the podium, too.

Some other sports fanatics are flocking to Vegas this weekend, for Canelo Alvarez at 23/10 vs Gennady Golovkin (GGG) at 16/10. This is a grudge rematch a year after their initial bust-up.
The second instalment was postponed due to some dwelm issues for the ginger fella, and that has been the source of the back and forth insults hurled between both camps in the build-up.
GGG is on the verge of breaking Bernard Hopkins’ championship record, and we back him to do it in front of the record holder - who will be backing his stablemate at Golden Boy Productions in Alvarez.

There are a bunch of rugby fixtures, starting with the Rugby Championship.
The Boks are playing for pride at the Westpac, with nothing to lose after their last two howlers.
The spread for this game is 23 points and the All Blacks should cover it - but probably in the second half, as they like to do.
Next up is Australia (3/10) and Argentina (28/10) with a 10 point handicap.
I would back Argentina on the handicap and, if you’re stupid or brave like this Sangoma here, back the Argies to win outright in a tight contest.
In local rugby, it’s the beloved Currie Cup which is at the business end already. Tonight, the Bulls (2/10) host the Pumas (9/2).
Tomorrow’s matches are Lions (8/10) at home to Western Province (11/10) and, lastly, we have the bottom feeders with Griquas (2/10) versus the Free State reserves at 9/2.
Sangoma’s call is to go with a clean sweep for the home teams, but if you soek value, then go for Pumas and Cheetahs at +14 points the pair.
On to footy, where we are back to domestic bliss after Libyan headaches. Wow, Bafana! The PSL offerings are not easy to call, but let’s give it a spin nonetheless.

Down in Cape Town, let’s look into punting the draw, which is priced at 22/10, as Benni ‘in the 18 area’ won’t want to lose to Kaizer’s boys.
So, basically, the home team will park the bus.
In other local matches, the Bones see Sundowns and Wits taking the points back home with them against AmaZulu and Maritzburg respectively and perhaps Supersport + draw is the way to go when they play the temperamental Pirates.
Oorkant, in the Queen’s country, the Bones pluck wins for Chelsea and City by two or more goals, and Liverpool and Arsenal to win on the road.
Sangoma over and out!
