It's not been a good week for Premier League giants Manchester United.

Following their 4-3 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Catabao Cup on Thursday, Ruben Amorim's men were on the wrong side of a 3-0 drubbing by Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Despite dominating proceedings for much of the game, United found themselves behind when Dean Huijsen put The Cherries in front in the 29th minute.

Justin Kluivert converted a 61st minute penalty, before Antoine Semenyo killed off the tie just two minutes later when he made it 3-0/

It was another horror show in front of the club's own fans, pointing to the massive task Amorim has in front of him as he aims to get the club back on their perch at the top of the Eglish football food chain.

In his post-match press conference, Amorim was again reminded about how bad things have become at Old Trafford when the media room ceiling started leaking as he was answering some questions from gathered journalists.

Of course, this is not the first time something like this has happened at Old Trafford. Earlier this year, towards the back end of last season, thousands of fans had to contend with a section of the stand which was pouring with rain through the roof.

Though the unfortunate fans were in a covered area of the stands, rainwater could be seen gushing down from the top of the stadium with rain water as a leak somewhere in the roof was the cause.

This happened after a crushing 1-0 defeat to then title-chasers Arsenal, a result that put more pressure on then manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag has since been sacked and Amorim has been appointed in his place. Sunday's result and leaking ceiling will surely have reminded the former Sporting boss about the massive challenge that lay ahead for the former kings of European football.
