Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro says he is unsure if star players Monnapule Saleng and Olisa Ndah will be available for the MTN8 final clash against Stellenbosch at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

The two players were not included in the Soweto giants' 1-0 win over Richards Bay FC at the King Zwelithini Stadium because of injuries they sustained in a previous encounter against Polokwane City.

After the game, Riveiro dismissed the notion that he was saving the two players for the upcoming MTN8 final against Stellenbosch, adding that the two players were currently out injured.

“Our last game against Polokwane City, both Olisah and Saleng they were subbed because of different injuries and that’s the reason why they are not here,” Riveiro said.

The Spanish tactician added that there was no guarantee the two players would be available for the final on Saturday.

“It’s because they could not make it, they were not available for selection and actually it’s not 100% sure they will be in the final as well,” Riveiro added.

Saleng has been in fine form for the Soweto giants this season scoring two goals, while Ndah has been key in defence alongside Thabiso Sesane.

The Buccaneers are currently in second place in the league table behind defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns only behind on goal difference.
