Fifa president Sepp Blatter will visit World Cup stadiums in Polokwane, Nelspruit and Port Elizabeth this weekend to inspect venues he has yet to see.

Fifa said on Monday that Blatter will travel to the Peter Mokaba and Mbombela stadiums in South Africa's north, and the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in the south coast city of Port Elizabeth - all three of which are struggling with poor ticket sales.

Blatter will be joined on a two-day tour by Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke, local organizing committee chairman Irvin Khoza and chief executive Danny Jordaan. He will unveil a commemorative plaque at each of the stadiums.

Last week Valcke said Fifa has problems with disappointing ticket sales in the three cities. - Sapa-AP
