TWO Sunday Tribune staffers have for World Cup tickets. Here they share their stories.
Deon Delport, managing editor
"On Sunday morning, after last week's draw, I searched out the Fifa website. Between Charlize Theron and my teenage son I had been persuaded to apply for tickets for some of the Durban games.
"The Fifa website was easy to navigate. Within minutes I had selected three of the first four games at Moses Mabhida stadium involving Germany, Australia, Spain, Switzerland, Nigeria and Korea. I followed the process of filling in my details and those of my guests - simple enough once I had located our various ID books.
"The excitement of booking was followed by the reality of paying by credit card. I found the process fairly painless. My application has been noted and I have been sent a unique number associated with our booking and now we wait, fingers crossed till February, to find out if we have our tickets.
"I have a good feeling about this and about Bafana Bafana - the lads will do us proud."
Masood Boomgaard, journalist
"The day tickets went on sale - on February 20 - I logged on to the Fifa website to book my tickets as early as possible - I had expected many people to have the same thought.
"The website was a bit slow on the evening of the ticket sale launch but the process was easy to understand. In some ways it was like booking movie tickets online. I was kept in the loop via e-mail and SMS and when the tickets were approved I was notified and my credit card billed."
