Tyla has added another accolade to her collection. The global superstar has won World Artist of the Year honours at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
There is simply no slowing down when it comes to Tyla, who's on a winning streak.
What makes this win so special is that she is the first artist to win in that category as well as the first South African artist to win an iHeartRadio Music Award.

The “Push 2 Start” hitmaker’s latest historic win is not her first record-breaking achievement. She made history at the 2024 Grammy Awards when she became the youngest African artist to win a Grammy for Best African Music at the age of 22.
Additionally, she became the first and youngest South African soloist in 55 years to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 with her song “Water”. Tyla also broke records at the 2024 MTV EMAs, becoming the first African artist to win three awards in a single night.
She was nominated alongside an impressive line-up of artists in the World Artist of the Year category, including Nigerian sensation Burna Boy, singer Tems, UK rapper Central Cee, and singer-songwriter, YG Marley.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards, celebrating and recognising talented and influential artists in the music industry, took place on Monday night, March 17, at the Dolly Theater in Los Angeles.
Tyla has proven to be a trailblazer since the very beginning of her career. Shaking up the music industry with her chart-topping hits such as “Water”, “Jump”, and “Push 2 Start”, winning historic awards, and introducing the world to her unique amapiano-pop-R&B sound.
Last year, was a groundbreaking year for the multi-award-winning artist, owning the year with incredible milestones and 2025 seems to be a continuation of her winning streak.
And, of course, she keeps making her fans and fellow countrymen proud. They have been congratulating her on her new achievement.
