Sekhukhune United have bolstered their squad ahead of the second half of the season, announcing the arrival of duo Katlego Otladisa and Kagiso Mayinga on Friday.

Otladisa joins Sekhukhune on a six-month loan deal from Orlando Pirates – the fellow top-flight side which he joined one and half season ago.

Mayinga, meanwhile, must have impressed coach Lehlohonolo Seema as he was signed from Gauteng ABC Motsepe side Tembisa Hollywood Thunder on undisclosed terms.

“Sekhukhune United are delighted to announce the signing of winger Katlego Otladisa on loan from Orlando Pirates and midfielder Kagiso Mayinga,” the club said in a statement.

Otladisa’s arrival at Sekhukhune will give him a platform to revitalise his career. He was expected to live up to the hype at Pirates but he struggled.

Under Jose Riveiro’s guidance, Otladisa only managed 12 appearances, with all coming in his maiden season as he struggled to get a sniff of game time this season.

That was all but disappointing for someone who is believed to be full of potential following spells with Mamelodi Sundowns’ youth structures before moving to other teams for game-time.

Otladisa was part of the Marumo Gallants side that made history two seasons ago, reaching the Caf Confederation Cup semi-final before getting relegated.

However, he’ll want to put the past behind him at Babina Noko and start on a new slate, reminding the football fraternity that he has what it takes to compete at the top.

Some members of the football team believe he’ll be a replacement for Shaun Mogaila who was arrested last year for culpable homicide and drunk driving.
