Fifteen children were injured when a bakkie rolled on the R70 near Senekal in the Free State on Friday, paramedics said.

The children were flung from the bakkie as it rolled, said Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks.

The driver had lost control of the bakkie on a gravel road.

The children, aged between six and 14, were taken to the Senekal provincial hospital.

Nine were in a critical condition, said Wicks.
