Sixteen people were injured when their minibus taxi rolled on the N1, 30km outside Kroonstad on Friday, paramedics said.

The driver apparently lost control because of mechanical problems, was entrapped in the wreckage and had to be cut out, ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks said.

Four people were seriously injured and 11 had minor injuries. All 16 were taken to a provincial hospital nearby. - Sapa
