Another delay in railway theft case

The case against 18 men facing theft charges for allegedly stealing railway tracks worth R1 million in Villiers was postponed for the third time on Monday, Free State police said.

Sergeant Thabo Litabe said the case was postponed to August 25. The case was first postponed to August 8 and then to August 22.

The tracks were stolen from a farm near Villiers last month.

Police arrested 15 Mozambicans, two South Africans and a Zimbabwean.

Cut railway tracks, cutting torches and other equipment allegedly in the men's possession were confiscated. – Sapa
