An eight-month-old baby died and four people were injured when a bakkie collided with another on the N1 highway between Sasolburg and Kroonstad in the Free State on Friday, paramedics said.
ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said the baby's family members were flung out of their bakkie during the impact. The baby died at the scene.
The family members as well as the driver of the other bakkie were rushed to a hospital in Kroonstad.
The cause of the accident was being investigated, Vermaak said. - Sapa
