Cheetah attacks zoologist

Johannesburg - A zoologist who was attacked by a cheetah at the Bloemfontein Zoo is recovering well after undergoing surgery, the Bloemfontein Medi-Clinic said on Sunday.

“He is doing well. I spoke to him this afternoon and there is a possibility that he will be discharged tomorrow (Monday),” said hospital spokesperson Amanda Appelgryn.

Rudi Vertue was attacked on Friday evening by a female cheetah called Gracie, apparently without cause..

He underwent surgery the same night after sustaining injuries to his arms and legs. - Sapa
