Free State - Police are looking for a Brandfort tavern owner who slaughtered 11 stolen sheep, police said on Friday.
Constable Werner van Tonder said police received information that a Majwenasweu tavern owner was slaughtering sheep at her business on Wednesday afternoon.
The local stock theft unit investigated and found the meat of six slaughtered sheep in a fridge and the skins of another five sheep at a nearby dumping site. The sheep were worth about R33 000.
Van Tonder said the woman fled when police arrived and they were still searching for her.
