Four arrested for Bronville crime spree

Welkom - Four men were arrested in Bronville, in the Free State, on Wednesday in connection with a number of crimes near Welkom, police said.

The men from Lesotho allegedly “terrorised” their victims on two separate occasions, Warrant Officer Malebo Khosana said.

“It is alleged that these four suspects committed a series of crimes from Tuesday night..., “ Khosana said.

A mother and her daughter were attacked in their home in Hani Park.

“One of the four men pulled out a hand firearm and fired a shot towards the mother, but the bullet fortunately missed her. The suspects then left the scene and shot three shots outside on the street.”

Three of the men, aged between 20 and 25, were arrested after a search.

“The fourth suspect was found (after 3/8 police searched a shack.... A pistol was found inside one of the pots,” said Khosana.
