Four men appeared in the Selosesha Magistrate's Court on Monday in connection with the murder and robbery of a man in Thaba Nchu, Free State police said.

The matter was postponed to February 6 when they were expected to apply for bail, Constable Consolation Mokoale said.

Rapulane Baile, Magwadi Meli, Matshediso Tsie and Lebogang Khama were arrested on Sunday shortly after the murder.

“They allegedly stabbed Thato Ledibane, 22, and robbed him of his cellphone in Thaba Nchu while he was returning from a tavern around 5am.”

His body was found in the street with multiple stab wounds. The men, aged between 18 and 21, were linked to the crime after being found in possession of a knife and the murdered man's cellphone, Makoale said. – Sapa
