Bloemfontein - A boy died when he was struck by lightning in Noordhoek, Bloemfontein, on Wednesday, paramedics said.
The boy was walking across an open field when he was struck during a thunderstorm in the area, said ER24 spokesman Christo Venter.
“Paramedics found the boy in an open field and tried to resuscitate him,” he said.
However, they were unable to save his life and he was declared dead on the scene.
