A 35-year-old man was arrested after being found in possession of contraband cigarettes in the Free State on Wednesday, police said.
Sergeant Majang Skalkie said police received information in the morning about a vehicle between Lindley and Arlington loaded with contraband cigarettes.
“A police officer spotted the white bakkie and called for back-up. The police stopped and searched the vehicle and recovered 10 boxes of cigarettes. A man was arrested and the vehicle was confiscated.”
The man was expected to appear in court soon. - Sapa
