Harrismith, Free State - A man was killed in an accident on the N5 outside Harrismith in the Free State, paramedics said on Monday.
Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said four other people were injured in the crash which occurred on Sunday evening.
“(Paramedics) found that two motor vehicles collided during a side-impact accident,” said Steinmann.
“A man tragically lost his life... One person sustained critical injuries, one person sustained serious injuries and two people sustained minor to moderate injuries.”
The injured were treated on the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals.
Steinmann said police would investigate the cause of the crash. - Sapa
