A man has been killed over a few sips of beer in Thabong in the Free State, police said on Monday.
Sergeant Tlalanyane Pakela said the 20-year-old man refused when asked to share his beer at a tuck shop on Sunday afternoon.
“He told the suspect to buy his own beer as he was not going to share with him.”
A 28-year-old man who had made the request pulled a knife and stabbed the beer drinker in the neck, who died on the scene.
The attacker was arrested, and was expected to appear in the Welkom Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. – Sapa
