Twenty-nine people were injured, one critically, in a stampede outside Transnet's offices in Bloemfontein on Friday, paramedics said.

“Reports from the scene indicate that people stormed an exam room at around 8am,” said Netcare 911 Chris Botha.

SABC reported that thousands of job seekers flocked to Transnet's school of rail hoping to find jobs that were advertised in the local newspaper.

“When paramedics arrived at the scene they were faced with chaos,” said Botha.
