Free State - The case against 18 people arrested on charges related to illegal dealings in drugs was postponed in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court, police said on Tuesday.

“The case was postponed for seven days for further investigation,” said Warrant Officer Zweli Mohobeleli.

Drugs such as cocaine, tik, cat and dagga and five vehicles allegedly used by members of the group during covert transactions were seized.

Mohobeleli said the group, 13 Nigerian men, three South African women and two South African men, were arrested during a three-day operation which ended last Saturday.

The group appeared in court on Monday.

Mohobeleli said the purpose of the operation was to curb the spread of drugs in Mangaung. - Sapa
