Warden, Free State - A truck driver was killed on Monday when his heavy goods vehicle veered off the N3 between Warden and Villiers in the Free State, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said the truck left the road and crashed down the embankment into a river. The driver was declared dead on the scene. The cause of the accident was not immediately clear. - Sapa
