Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of another man at a tavern in Putswastene, Welkom, Free State police said on Saturday.
One of the men, 25, was arrested on Friday afternoon while drinking at a tavern and the other man, 27, on Saturday morning at his home, said Warrant Officer Malebo Khosana.
Thapelo Johannes Nkoane, 20, was stabbed to death last week after getting into a fight with the 25-year-old. The men were chased out of the tavern and the fight continued outside.
Three other men joined the fight and attacked Nkoane with knives. He died on the scene.
Police are still looking for the other two accomplices.
The two men will appear in the Welkom Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
