Two men were killed and a woman was critically injured when their bakkie collided head-on with a car on the N8 near Petrusburg in the Free State, paramedics said.
ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
“Paramedics arrived to find that a man had already succumbed to his injuries inside the Hyundai, while the second man was found with fatal injuries lying on the ground outside the vehicle. There was nothing further that paramedics could do for the two men and they were declared deceased,” said Jackson.
Rescue workers used the jaws of life to cut the body of one of the men out of the Hyundai. A woman was found lying in the road next to the bakkie. She was airlifted to Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein in a critical condition. - Sapa
