A man was arrested for allegedly strangling his girlfriend in a fight over money in Bloemfontein on Monday, Free State police said.
The murder followed an argument the 23-year-old man had with his girlfriend at his business premises in Fountain Street, Captain Chaka Marope said.
“It is has been found during the preliminary investigation that the suspect has been forcing the girlfriend to work as sex worker for some time in order to supplement his cost of living.”
He told his brother about the crime. The brother called the police. The man was expected to appear soon in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on a charge of murder. - Sapa
